Hi.

I am just wondering is there any package or a script for obarun which just like the obarun-installer automates the removal of existing ( faulty trees and services ) and creates and enables new one for the user for better functioning of Obarun ? It will help someone like me to have a clean installation ( as compared to the mess I always create ) ....just wondering....( hope I have put my question according to what I have in my mind )

I slept over it and I am putting some more points about what I am thinking about .

A tool/script which a user can run on installed system regularly , and it checks

1 ) pacman.conf file is updated with all the mandatory changes etc etc
2) checks all the packages origin and informs and updates packages pure from Obarun origin
3) Runs a check on system for trees, services, modules and informs the user about faulty ones and offers to remove . create . enable faulty ones .
4 ) scans system for wanted and un wanted packages and offers installation and removal of all those packages
5) Offers various options from installing packages , enabling services like networking , bluetooth , printer , etc etc and downloads the required packages , enables these services
6) runs a check on kernel and grub and offers changes according to the needs of the system

more functions can be added to this script or tool with time and it will be something unique and interesting about Obarun to have any such tool. It would be huge task but thats what I thought about and mentioned here
No no script, but the installer at the end does run a script that creates trees and enables services in them.
Depending on what you are installing the combination is different.

From past experience I have seen you mess with multiple networking services. You have to pick what you want and not enable many of them, as they may be fighting each other for control of the network. Like one is turning the net off, and configures it, then the other does the same.

There can't be a generic script that easily complies with each user's needs. One will complaint wifi is not working the other will say wpa_supp fails as there are no wireless interfaces, etc.

It is better to say what you want as an end result, what problems are you having, and together we can make a script for you that will provide you the setup you need.
