Made the update of the drivers...
along with others. Under them was gcr.
It still requires systemctl. I think this should not be..

It was too early to update the drivers...
I had to reinstall xorg-server: /usr/bin/X not existent
To circumvent the issue I've set my pacman.conf to ignore
xf86-*
so that it could update other stuff in the meanwhile.

However, a new update came in that offers to keep
xorg-server
and remove
xf86-*
instead. Should I take this offer then?

In my case for the above, I simply undid what I did to my pacman.conf - I unignored xf86-* and everything has proceeded to update without trouble.
