I am on XFCE.

Some programs produce the following error (e.g. timeshift, xfce4-terminal) after I updated today:
error while loading shared libraries: libicuuc.so.72: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
This seems to be related to the icu package, currently at version 73.2-1.

Downgrading icu to 73.1-1 had no effect.

Attempting to downgrade to 72.1-2 causes dependency breakages.

A bit of a bummer that I can't just roll back my system update, since Timeshift has this error too.

Just wondering what I can do to resolve this?
My bad, Hyperspace. I think the culprit is vte3, which on top of needing an update, also needs to rebuilt for icu 73. Give me a couple of hours, and I'll get it sorted.

Best, nfg
I think you should be ok now. Let me know if not. Cheers, nfg
I've updated and the programs work fine now, without any error.

Thank you for the swift rebuild!

Hello,
after updating yesterday, same issue, while starting xfce4-terminal, in another terminal:
error while loading shared libraries: libicuuc.so.73: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
when ldconfig -p |grep libicuuc
reports: libicuuc.so.74 (libc6, x86-64) => /usr/lib/libicuuc.so.74
any idea where to get libicuuc.so.73 to make xfce4-terminal worked.
Thks for your reply.
