Wayland on obarun ?

I spent some time about running wayland on Obarun. I have started and ran successfully:

sway
labwc
hyprland
wayfire

without any elogind (this obvious) or basu. And as you can see on the screenshot i control some components with 66.

Were you able to build sway without basu? The other ones don't need it for building or running, but the basu problem comes about when one wants to make use of the portals "feature" - xdg-desktop-portal-wlr and a dependency of xdg-desktop-portal-hyprland require it.

I could care less about any of the other portals features, but I unfortunately need to be able to share my screen regulary on video calls over Zoom (via Firefox). It does work, though a bit clumsily.

Very nice, looking forward to trying this without basu for sway.
Also, I thought of porting the obenbox obarun to labwc version. Thanks!

I don't think basu needs to be avoided.
As well as xdg-desktop-portals.

They don't depend on systemd nonsense, and are clean.
[dbus-activation yes, but 66-dbus-launch handles it well...]

AND they provide controllable access to wayland features.
Infact they are an improvement.

So my request that basu and portals not be disabled.... just the systemd nonsense... [and elogind]
