Wine on a fresh install

Tips anyone? I've been gone for awhile, still trying to get caught up on changes.
#edit Arch is still trying to sell me systemd.
#2 my ex-girlfriend uses systemd so she is easy to controll.
does anyone come to these forums anymore?

Me again sorry if I came off wrong. Arch wiki on wine contradicts itself. I'm still looking for advice. Why should wine need systemd?
Rember having trouble with d-bus and usb. Should I compile from source? I'll check back in a few days. See ya

Sorry, i can't help you on that, i don't use wine.

Maybe some users here can help you about that

but yeah, you may need to rebuid some components (package dependencies) of wine to remove the support of systemd.

note: forum is alive but maybe users don't know how to help you. it can be the reason to not get answer on your request

wine-staging doesnt seem to use systemd, that is what I use. I have not really tested it. I used to use it more but I think it would be fine. Be sure to enable the obcommunity repo if you use steam because some packages without systemd are there that it needs.

I used to use Lutris more to run windows binaries. Make sure to install winetricks for installing necessary windows components for executables

Cool, thanks. I was trying to avoid over-using the AUR.
Too many packages have gone non-official.
