Never mind that Obarun is the most awesome Arch going.

I've been "lurking thru here, copying and pasting etc solutions for many of the little sniggles I've come across especially getting a 1st install up and running.

Of course, I had to "do it my way" (isn't that WHY we Linux?) meaning Iuse grub as boot mgr (grub2) and I'm still tameing that.

It does not help being 60, autistic, add, (born that way) and had a stroke at age 36 (recovered enough to have gotten a license as an aircraft mechanic)...

Either way, should my communications appear rude, I simply do not have the resources in my fractured brain cells to invest in hostility or ugliness.

The "Main Arch Forum" isn't exactly "Handicapped accesible" for folks with Cognitive Anomalies :-)

Right now, wht's prompted me to finally breeak my silence:

With fresh cartiges -- it even scans!

That is, if I can get Obarun to talk to it.

haaa, i like autistic people, i like the way how they see the world, so different but so beautiful people. obviously , it can be very difficult for them to live in our society with untolerant persons coming with closed eyes. My son tell me that i'm autistic sometimes :D

To quickly reply : 
$ sudo pacman -S cups cups-s6serv
then start the service with : 
$ sudo s6opts enable cups
then follow the arch wiki stuff https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/CUPS

for the scanner part :

you can install xsane for the gui part(very usefull)
