Offtop is a forum bug that should be fixed. :) Here's a proposed patch: To create a forum corb where offtop texts will be relocated from original topics by an administrator, and set a certain amount of time for this "offtop.log" to let an offtop starter handle it properly for the community benefit.eric wrote Please, Please and again PLEASE,guys do not drift from the original theme of this topic. It will be more easier for people to found thing if we have one topics for one subject. This is why i insist under the fact to make a new topics if you question do not concern the original question.
Keep the forum clean
The idea is interesting but i don't see how to concretly appling it, in particular the offtop.log. My knowledge about forum stuff is may be insufficient. Maybe you can enlight me?
I think the admin manually can combine threads, split them, split a comment into a new topic .etc.
I don't see what automated system would recognize something as being off topic. Just imagine the havoc of something of this kind would bring.
The question is whether the admin would need to waste time or should we the guests be a bit more conscious of not running off topic.

I have no any experience of forum maintenance. Here are just some considerations for possible admin solutions:
1.To warn users against offtop (forum rules, sticky)
2.To make a topic header where actualized info/solution is located.
4.To cut&paste it to offtop.log (manually, just a text file)
3.To delete offtop (manually, same as handling spam)
5.To close a topic.
