I've just started playing with Obarun, andI am really impressed, both with s6 and with Obarun's use of it.
I was a longtime Arch use, but when they switched to systemd, I eventually wandered over the Void Linux, which I recommend to anyone interesed in a good example of runit as an init/supervisor system.
Every winter I try to find something new to do with Linux while I'm cooped up inside, and I ran across Obarun. I found s6 first, and was interested, but was somewhat lost reading the s6 website. I was thrilled to then find Obarun. Having a working system to study makes it a lot easier for me to learn.
Gentoo has a tutorial https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/S6 that I am fighting my way through. I am trying to restructure it so that it is more in the Obarun style. As I get parts of it done, I would be happy to add it to the Obarun wiki.
