Publicity for distrowatch
Correct spelling: Arch Linux, KDE, JWM
Are they ready to approve it?
The graphic work is good, but make the final one as large as they will accept.
I like the gray black and the shade, the blue is a little ..... for my taste
I much prefer the blue of an Alpine A110 ;)

Since you have plasma on the installer you should add that stupid thing on the gif too
People go crazy these days with it. When I started my blog the very first comment I got was "can I install plasma on it"
jwm and ob would have been fine for me :)

Hello,
better graphic solution of Obarun branding is to separate logo from distro name, imho! But as you already applied this concept at main web page, this comment is probably useless... Long live the Obarun!

Final version, hoping that can be used because i has already pushed the previous one ... We will see...

@ ray thanks a lot for the correction, this is very precious for me
@ fungalnet, i'm from an old school, for me kde and plasma is equal, but you're right,it's not :)
@ dvam, the concept of the logo can be better but as you said is already used as it on my web page
Thanks to all to your interest and comments

still on waiting list
a year later
I need the advise from the community, in case you know more.
In the past month I have undertaken the task to promote Obarun and its new set of tools, 66. The later April release of isos with all bugs sorted out, seemed as the the right time to do a new introduction/release announcement. Somehow any release announcement made is crosschecked by users with distrowatch.
After an initial contact with distrowatch inquiring how do we go about submitting new information for the Obarun entry, there have been 3 attempts (main contact and editor who responded) with all the changes we wanted. Although it is clear that someone looked at the info sent, the only thing changed was the graphic/logo.
There has been NO RESPONSE, and there have been two release dates published (one was 4/18 and one is 5/7) since then without any of the changes we asked but continuing to publish incorrect/insufficient data.
Nobody asked for money, nobody responded, even though on the last message to the editor it is directly asking for someone to acknowledge receipt of the data sent. Nada!
If anyone has any clues of how they work and why would this happen I am open to suggestions. My style would have been to accuse them publicly and in all possible mediums of been biased towards systemd distros that want to erase Obarun and similar projects of the face of the earth, but Obarun is not mine to choose how to deal with such issues.
At least a nasty note "either get the information right or don't publish Obarun at all" is necessary in my mind, but I refrain from such impulses.
I recently was reviewing various sites and their potential for promotion (suggestions are welcome) and run into this stomach upsetting trash of a website https://www.linuxjournal.com
The first thing that hit me were the huge corporate names, such as Lockheed/Martin hiring RH to do consulting on fighter jet systems optimization (consider this a money laundering operation funneling NSA money to RH, which IBM didn't allow it to pass by unnoticed). Fighter jets don't run on systemd, I am sure. Even MS is mentioned several times. If you run a search on OpenRC, runit, s6 on that site you get 0 hits. Even sysv or sysvinit is not mentioned anywhere. But systemd is. You can guess the distros that the site portrays as "the only linux distros". Ever since systemd appeared the web has been flooded with biased sites that only display "mainstream" and provocatively disregard everything else.
Am I surprised? No. When you have users telling you that "if I can't get my game to run here I will go back to my systemd distro" you can hardly blame the shit providers and not the shit eaters. Was Snowden discredited as revealing lies? Did anyone discredit wikileaks for publishing lies? Has anything changed in peoples minds?
I've been playing around with OpenBSD recently, and past its potential for use of a router or firewall I can't force myself to like it. Irrelevant? I don't know.

Hello fungalnet
Few month ago, I sent an email to jsmith at distrowatch.com asking how we have to proceed to update Obarun OS information. I asked him if there was a way to directly update the information by ourself and I got this answer:

We do not give access to update information on distributions, all our data is updated by the DistroWatch team. If the Obarun project has published a new release or made changes, please e-mail us with a link to the new information or version at distro @ distrowatch.com.
Even with "intentionally incorrect information" they made an announcement of obarun on that left column, and just on this the statistics have gone off the roof. If you look at "trending past 7/30 days" yesterday Obarun was beating fedora and rh and it was in number 2 position. Today it is 3rd. Ok, expected for less known systems to get more interest than debian.
At least a better logo made it in, the link to github is not broken, the message is clear :)
The things people will do for money!
