open source is headed straight for microsofts zombie apocalypse. the future of free software is a post-zombie-apocalypse world.

they were also considered for the sale of red hat.

why did ibm buy them instead? i dont know, but ibm has never wanted microsoft to own everything.
The fact they could have owned MS for next to nothing and let it go away from them must still be a shore throat for IBM's board.
But can they buy what can not be bought? The reverse question is what is the linux/bsd community doing to prevent being sold out? I have a sense that many promote themselves so they can be later sold.
