virtualbox works. minion works. steam works. liquorix kernel works. mesa works. vulkan and vulkan d3d works. Mostly everything works except eso and conky
You can find my own version without systemd and pulseaudio here
  • [deleted]

Hi

Conky is now available on obextra. Tested locally.
Sync, install and report if something is not working as expected.
Elder Scrolls Online. It’s a steam game played through steam play. Works on arch, Manjaro, and Endeavour OS, and Artix but not on void and so far not here. Not sure what the misfunction is at conjunction junction. Weird one.

@ LizziAS

Hi

Could you please, sync, update. You should see an update of lib32-libusb and lib32-p11kit.
Try again and report please if that solved your issue with eso.

Thx
Conky isn't quite right but it is showing now. I can perhaps work with that and tweak it a bit.

After the upgrade i tried running eso and it failed to reach the character loading screen but it did get as far as the initial update and launcher screen

output from terminal is showing this:

[0117/180853.598735:INFO:crash_reporting.cc(270)] Crash reporting enabled for process: renderer

i have amdgpu installed and all the mesa and vulkan stuffs and vlukan d3d stuffs too. this should work but it's not quite there.. Something i am overlooking
so after switching from the liquorix kernel back to your kernel, the same result of not playing but slightly different outcome

ARNING: lavapipe is not a conformant vulkan implementation, testing use only.

on a hunch i tried installing r8168-dkms and blacklisting r8169 since that's how i had to have it in other distros but the effect is the same with the same outcomes as before.

Clearly i know nothing. Back to arch for a minute.

@ LizziAS

Take a look at this https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/556 perhaps it could help.
Another thing, in your search engine: Elder Scrolls Online ERROR:frame_sink_video_capturer_impl.cc
Report your issue to Steam.

Please tag the thread as solved.

Thx

Failed to call portal: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.portal.Desktop was not provided by any .service files

any chance that is distro specific? not steam specific?

fwiw, i deleted the game and reinstalled it and now it wont launch at all.

Please, provide the full output of Steam in the terminal. I need more information before I can figure out what's going on.
  • [deleted]

Ok, step by step, generate first the machine-id with this command line
# dd if=/dev/urandom status=none bs=16 count=1 | md5sum | cut -d' ' -f1 > /etc/machine-id
Provide the full output of Steam after that
on the liquorix kernel https://pastebin.com/c8ES9jky

on your kernel i got as far as the login screen before it crashed https://pastebin.com/LsWgTqYR basically it says too many open files ad infinitum until crash

also i had deleted everything and reinstalled everything fresh as before i was sharing the home directory with artix which is now gone also. so it's just obarun all by itself..
aur/lib32-ffmpeg-steam 0.1.0-2 (0) (0.00)
ln -s /usr/lib32/libav*.so* /home/*/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/libav*.so* (fix VAAPI memleak for
Steam)

I've never downloaded or tried steam anywhere
Is that a command to run?

ln -s /usr/lib32/libav*.so* /home/*/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/libav*.so
zsh: no matches found: /usr/lib32/libav*.so*
I appreciate that this is outside your usual use case. Ty for looking into it.
