Hello everyone,

For the past two weeks, we have been in a state of emergency (just a reminder, I live in New Caledonia). I won't go into the details of why the state of emergency was declared, as it's a lengthy and complex discussion that's not the purpose of this post.

Currently, we are already facing some difficulties finding basic food products, as well as gas and fuel.

I'm telling you this to inform you that I might lose my internet connection and electricity at any moment. So, if you don't hear from me for a while (which I hope won't happen), please don't be surprised. It's completely out of my control, but I'll do my best to get back to you as soon as I can.

For now, I still have a connection, as you can see.

Thank you for your understanding.

i've been aware of the general situation and been wondering how it might be impacting you..
hope things work out and stay safe.

eric I just became aware, the world is getting more intense in outbursts of violence more frequently in locations around it. Hope you're not too affected in your area of the island and though the situation is hard because most world leaders including the French ones are focused on Russia and Ukraine instead of internal issues.

Also it is hard to know what to do with jealousy created by more advantaged having more comfortable lives than less advantaged. I will say if people voluntarily looked out for each other as one big family, it wouldn't be so.

It's challenging because people have different etiquette, sense of proprietary, and unspoken rules on how to speak and act.
